Destination Bachelorette Party Tips

If the bride wants to have a destination bachelorette party, and the other guests are all able to afford a weekend away, then it’s time to get planning!  The tips and tricks below will help you plan a trip that you will never forget!

Tropical Bachelorette Party Supplies

They’re a great way for your girls to get together, enjoy a change of scenery, and blow off a little steam. Although putting together a destination bachelorette party may seem like a daunting task at first, we’re here to help you through it! With our step-by-step guide, you’ll soon see that planning a destination bachelorette party is easier than you might think!

Step 1: Set a Budget (4 - 5Months Out)

First things first, you’ll want to have an earnest discussion with the gals about budget. After all, you wouldn’t want to plan a fabulous and super splashy weeklong extravaganza in Hawaii only to find out that none of the other guests could afford it!

Step 2: Check in with the Bride (4 - 5 Months Out)

After finding a budget that all of the girls are comfortable with, the next most important thing is talking to the bride. Find out how involved in the planning process she wants to be and ask if she has anything already in mind in terms of locale, theme, or guest list.

Step 3: Choose the Destination & Send Invites (3 - 4 Months Out)

Once you have most of the technical details out of the way, it’s time to pick a destination! This should be easy if your bride knows where she wants the party to be held, but if she’s hoping for a surprise then deciding on the location might fall to you! Exciting! When picking a destination, think about the bride’s personality and the types of activities that she enjoys.  If she loves country music, Nashville might be a great spot, whereas if she’s more of a beach babe, Miami might be a better fit! After you’ve got a location set, do some research! Ask the other girls if they’ve been to your destination before, and if they have any recommendations for lodging, restaurants, or activities. Here is info on the top 10 bachelorette destination in the USA and tips on choosing a bachelorette destination.

Step 4: Book Flights & Lodging (3 Months Out)

About three months before the party, you’ll want to check in with all invited guests in order to get a head count and ask the girls to book their flights. Using google docs is a great way to keep details like flight information organized!  When you book your accommodations, look into whether or not an Airbnb is a more cost-effective lodging solution than getting a large suite or group of hotel rooms, because it might be! Around three months before the party, you’ll want to book the hotel or house and start reserving space at your chosen activities.

Step 5: Plan & Book Activities (1 - 2 Months Out)

Because you don’t want to overwhelm the girls, it’s a great idea to stick to planning two main activities a day. A good rule of thumb is to plan one meal and one outing per day. That way you’ll have a schedule but will still have some freedom if someone gets a particularly bad hangover, or you find a great little flea market that you want to spend a few hours at!

Step 6: Send Out the Final Itinerary (1 Month Out)

Although it’s tempting, don’t consult the group for every decision. It’s impossible to make everyone happy all of the time, but it is possible to make everyone happy some of the time! Come up with lodging, meals, and activities that the group will be able to compromise and send out the itinerary about a month before the party!

Step 7: Order your Party Supplies (3 Weeks Out)

Three weeks before, stock up on all the fabulous bachelorette party goodies that you’ve been itching to purchase. That way you can take advantage of free shipping offers and discount coupons!  Ship the supplies to several different people to spread the suitcase packing around!

Step 8: Pack Your Bags (1 Week Out)

Two weeks before the party, decide with one another what you’ll be wearing on the trip, and start thinking about what you want to pack! Then, make a list one week out and start packing your bag!  Here are tips on packing for a destination bachelorette party!

All of us at The House of Bachelorette, wish you a wonderful and safe trip of a lifetime! Cheers!
